In BizFile+, which is the business filing system operated by the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) in Singapore, an “Alternate Address” is an optional address that directors, secretaries, and other company officers can use instead of their residential address in public records.

The alternate address must be in the same country as the residential address, and it cannot be a P.O. Box; it should be a location where the officer can be contacted. The alternate address helps officers protect their privacy by providing an alternative contact location in the public records.

Here’s how it works:

  • If an officer provides an alternate address, only this address appears on the public record, while the residential address remains private.
  • The alternate address must be updated in BizFile+ whenever there is a change.
